I love the paradox: Vaucluse, the smallest county in Provence, overflows with quality-labelled local products: the purple Muscat grape from Mont Ventoux; the Nyons olive; Cavaillon melon; Carpentras strawberries and Monts de Venasque cherries. Vaucluse is the number one producer of the so-called “Perigord” Truffle. Vaucluse vintages from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise have convinced the world. My walks take me through vineyards with the Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Ventoux and Côtes-du-Luberon appellations. Avignon is the city in France which has 9 starred chefs. I am gourmand, and I try the Provencal recipes that I find in the “Welcome to the Farm” network.
